Who’s a handsome Boxer? ME ME ME! I’ve been nipped, tucked, groomed, and fed like the prince I am. I’ve gone from ugly duckling to beautiful swan…well maybe not swan, but I am one seriously improved pup. When the good people at Houston Boxer Rescue took me in I had almost no fur, bright pink skin, and I was super skinny from malnutrition. But now, thanks to HBR and my foster family I am in great shape and ready to meet and interview potential forever families! I have no remaining health issues and don’t need any special care beyond the usual love and affection we all crave.
I am having a blast in my foster home! I have two large companions to play with (I’m talking about my canine friends, not my fosters!) and we wear ourselves out running the yard and patrolling for anything of interest. I’ve become best friends with the feline in the house—don’t tell the Boxer membership committee. We love to play and even sleep together most nights. I’m very gentle with him and am just fine having him around. I love people, and little ones are the best—I get a little excited when I meet new people at first but once I settle down I am really gentle and good.
I am house trained and I know some basic commands. My focus until recently has been getting well, but now we are working on expanding my vocabulary and repertoire. I am good on a leash and love car rides too. I have a crate and I will go into it, but it is not my favorite place. I am getting used to it though, and after a few minutes I get pretty comfortable in it.
I am very playful and I love to run and chase things. I am great at catching water from the sprinkler, and chasing it is one of my favorite things. Check out my video—that’s right, I’m a star. But very down to earth and approachable. Mostly I like to run, box, and be loved on by my people. I’m not big on retrieving, but if you are into that I am sure I could learn. Relationships are about compromise, right?
So, I am ready for my new life to get underway. I’m looking for a forever home where my family loves me cares for me, and where I can return the favor! I already know what life is like when no one cares and I don't EVER want to experience that again. Our basic transport fee is $300 for boxers traveling outside of Texas to their new homes up North. This fee may vary occasionally. Note: Transport is not available within Texas or Louisiana.
