Hi, I’m Chewie! My foster parents named me Chewie because I can do a great Chewbacca impression when I yawn. The humans found me in an abandoned field in Independence Heights scavenging for food, so I decided to follow them home to check out their food pantry - since then, I’ve packed on a few pounds and am looking a lot healthier. I love following the humans around, and have learned a thing or two about gentle play since my foster mom is pregnant with a pup herself! They’ve taught me some really cool tricks like ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘wait’, ‘off’, and I am quite the gentleman on a leash and crate trained with no indoor potty accidents. I occasionally like to make my presence known on walks by barking at other dogs and people (what can I say, I have so much love to give!), so there’s still some work to be done on my manners but am making lots of progress. I LOVE to play with other dogs and am obsessed with my Kong toy (not sure how I feel about cats…) but also feel comfortable flying solo as an only pet. I am very loyal, kind, and have one blue eye and one brown, which I think is pretty cool if I say so myself! I’m excited to meet my forever family, and know that I’d be a wonderful addition if given the chance.
