In case you haven't figured it out yet, I was named after the dog, Dug, in the movie 'Up'. That's because my foster Mom says Dug was a very cute character, and she has faith I will be too, when I am out of crisis and on the mend.
You can see I was rescued in the nick of time! If a Good Samaritan had not given me water and called boxer rescue, my doctor said I would not have lived more than another one or two days! Life on the street is hard. And other evidence indicates my prior life was nothing to write home about either. I have scars on my front legs and face, as well as at some point, a broken jaw.
It may take a little while to get me stabilized before boxer rescue can address repairing my jaw. Right now, making me handsome and healthy again is top priority! My foster Mom reports that I am the sweetest dog ever...I just want to be loved. I am gaining weight at a steady pace and I am totally crate trained and potty trained!
Please bookmark my page and visit often to read updates on my progress. If it is within your means to do do, HBR would be ever so grateful for donations to help with the orthopedic and dental care I will need.
As you are watching me, I will be searching for a family who will ascribe value to my life and love me forever!
*Look at me now! 7/13* I have gained 12 pounds in a week! I am completely house trained, I know how to sit, and we are working on lay down. My crate is not a favorite place but I don't complain about it once inside. I adore human contact and want to give everyone kisses! For now I might be a little too excited with small children, but bigger ones would be way cool! I am pals with all the dogs in my foster home and they say I am very sweet. I love bones. Any kind! But I know the difference and don't chew things that belong to people. I am not food or toy aggressive and I don't get snarky over who is getting attention when it is not my turn. I am great on a leash and everyone says I am just perfect! I hope you think so too!
